Travis Scott To Be Honored by Parsons for His Contributions to Design Past honorees include Pharrell Williams, Rihanna and Solange Knowles.

Rapper Travis Scott is amongst one of the creatives set to be honored at the 72nd annual Parsons Benefit hosted by The New School in New York. Every year, the Parsons School of Desgin chooses a select few individuals within the fashion world who have proven their impact in the industry through contributions to design, retail, entrepreneurship, sustainability, the arts and social justice.

Not only is Scott a global music phenomenon, but he is known internationally for his iconic style and more so in recent years for his contributions to the sneaker and streetwear space. Scott continues to make waves across industries, only recently launching his Cactus Jack Foundation in tandem with HBCU and Parsons, in hopes of providing creative and educational resources for future generations. He also signed a multi-year partnership with his hometown of Houston to improve on their education department.

In a statement, Scott expressed his gratitude for the honor saying, “I’m very excited to be receiving this honor from The New School and grateful to be a part of this group of innovators. I’ve always tried to fuse fashion, technology and the arts into everything I do. These are all linked and a natural extension of my work. It has never been about specific brands or labels for me. It’s about the vision. It’s about making your own things, seeing what’s out there, and never compromising.”

Versace’s “La Vacanza” Is a Lesson in Seaside Luxury A campaign designed to spread “a little Versace glamour”.

Versace has showcased this season’s plethora of Greca-adorned summer-ready essentials with the launch of its latest mini-campaign: La Vacanza.

The Italian luxury house — who last month released its elegant pair of pool slides — now takes us on a journey to glamorous seaside locations to flaunt its latest offering, comprising everything from Greca-covered swim shorts and silk shirts, to travel bags and pool towels.

“With this shoot I wanted to create something fun that captures the spirit of a vacation. We all miss travel,” said Donatella Versace on the campaign. “We miss the excitement of being somewhere different, of meeting with friends and sharing experiences. These images are about enjoying life and feeling free, they encapsulate that summertime feeling of endless possibilities.”

Gap Confirms YEEZY Line to Launch by End of June

Ahead of the arrival of its quarterly reports on May 27, Gap (NYSE:GPS -0.37%) has hinted at more details about its upcoming YEEZY line. Although little has been said by the group in the past, Business of Fashion now reports that Gap is confident that the line is “on track” to launch by the end of June this year.

Gap has previously stated the financial importance of the collaboration, with Bloomberg revealing earlier this year that the brand hopes to make $150 million USD from the YEEZY line in its first full year. Since the collaboration with Kanye West‘s YEEZY was announced in June 2020, Gap has had a rocky year. The retailer was forced to close 225 stores in August — coming after an 18% decline in overall sales — before announcing more closures and more losses at the end of the year.

As the arrival of Gap YEEZY approaches, keep an eye out for more details about the partnership and its official reveal.

As well as Gap, J. Crew has also bet big on a high-profile designer to turn around its fortunes, with Brendon Babenzien joining the mall brand as Chief Menswear Designer.

Official Images of the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 "University Gold"

Virgil Abloh‘s Off-White™ x Nike (NYSE:NKE +0.19%) Air Force 1 “University Gold” has been teased since the top of the year, and now, ahead of its long-speculated summertime debut, official images have been revealed. Thought to correspond with the opening of Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibit at ICA Boston, the “University Gold” offers a loud, monochromatic look that serves as an apt follow-up to 2019’s ultra-limited Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 Low “MCA Chicago.”

From heel to toe, the “University Gold” is drenched in a rich yellow shade. Its leather upper is split by a metallic silver Swoosh, loosely stitched on with black thread. Special details grace both the lateral and medial quarters: the former features a delicately pinned yellow fabric tab, the latter is blasted with stamped Off-White™ branding. A yellow plastic zip tie hangs down from the laces as well.

Tongues feature an exposed foam construction with an off-center tag that veers towards the medial collar, and heels supply taped detailing. Co-branded hits are placed on the insoles, and a final flourish is supplied by the black “AIR” graphic stamped on the midsole above and in front of the AF1’s standard embossed Air hit.

At the time of writing, an official release date or pricing information for the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 Low “University Gold” has yet to be revealed. However, Abloh’s exhibition at ICA Boston is set to open on July 3, so it may arrive around then — and might even be spotted on the feet of museum staff, much in the same way the MCA pair was.
