Travis Scott To Be Honored by Parsons for His Contributions to Design Past honorees include Pharrell Williams, Rihanna and Solange Knowles.

Rapper Travis Scott is amongst one of the creatives set to be honored at the 72nd annual Parsons Benefit hosted by The New School in New York. Every year, the Parsons School of Desgin chooses a select few individuals within the fashion world who have proven their impact in the industry through contributions to design, retail, entrepreneurship, sustainability, the arts and social justice.

Not only is Scott a global music phenomenon, but he is known internationally for his iconic style and more so in recent years for his contributions to the sneaker and streetwear space. Scott continues to make waves across industries, only recently launching his Cactus Jack Foundation in tandem with HBCU and Parsons, in hopes of providing creative and educational resources for future generations. He also signed a multi-year partnership with his hometown of Houston to improve on their education department.

In a statement, Scott expressed his gratitude for the honor saying, “I’m very excited to be receiving this honor from The New School and grateful to be a part of this group of innovators. I’ve always tried to fuse fashion, technology and the arts into everything I do. These are all linked and a natural extension of my work. It has never been about specific brands or labels for me. It’s about the vision. It’s about making your own things, seeing what’s out there, and never compromising.”
