MR PORTER recently sat down with superstar Lenny Kravitz to discuss his early years and what four decades in the industry have taught him. Along with the interview, Kravitz was tapped to showcase the online retailers latest apparel goods in a new editorial shot by Matthew Brookes.
At 53 years old, the eternally youthful Kravitz isn’t too far removed from who he was when he first emerged on the scene in the late 1980s. With the styling help of longtime collaborator, Arianne Phillips, he developed his flamboyant hippie aesthetic; however, not much has changed as he still holds a deep connection to those roots — though referring to himself now as a “champagne” hippie. On the way to the fitting in Paris, Kravitz laments the pain of losing his dear friend Prince, the secrets of his youth and style, his love life, and the future he sees for himself in music.
The editorial serves up brooding images of Kravitz in his opulent Paris mansion wearing clothes from the likes of Haider Ackermann, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Gucci, Balmain, Berluti, and Caruso, all styled around his renowned taste. For more looks head over to MR PORTER to read the full story.
