Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, has topped Zara founder Amancio Ortega as the world’s fourth richest person on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. By overtaking Ortega — who at one point beat Bill Gates as the world’s richest person — Arnault is now the richest person in the fashion industry, sitting at an estimated net worth of $79.3 billion USD.
As the head of LVMH, Arnault oversees 70 luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Hublot, Givenchy, CĂ©line, Rimowa and more.
