In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Laureus World Sports Awards — known as the Oscars of the sports world — Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has crafted its 14th special edition for the organization, this time opting for a beautifully elegant mono-pusher chronograph.
Encased in a larger 46mm stainless steel case is the Swiss company’s in-house hand-winding 59360 caliber, capable of holding an impressive power reserve of a
whopping eight days. As a monopusher chronograph movement, the watch allows you to start, stop, and reset the two subdial timers at 12 and 6 o’clock with just a single button sitting on top of the crown at 3 o’clock. The dial is colored in a sleek Laureus blue with a sunburst finish and holds a date window and power reserve indicator along with minute marks around the outer rim. Finishing the special edition piece is a black leather strap with a numbered caseback engraving featuring a tribute to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
For those interested, the IWC Schaffhausen “Laureus Sport for Good” Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition will be available soon. This watch is limited to just 500 pieces, and will sell for $16,100 USD. Head over to the company’s website to learn more now.
Elsewhere in watches, Bell & Ross has debuted a new BR 03-92 Grey Lum reference.
