IWC Modernizes Classic Big Pilot's Watch The Big Date Edition “150 Years” boasts a brand new complication.

IWC Schaffhausen Big Pilot Watch Big Date Edition 150 Years Swiss Luxury Complication jubilee
IWC‘s watches typically blend high-end features with hard-wearing design, making them a natural choice for those who prefer low-key luxury. For its 150th anniversary, the brand reworks its signature Big Pilot model, streamlining the already understated design.
To celebrate its anniversary, IWC rolled out the Jubilee collection, a variety of the brand’s models issued as limited edition watches boasting new dial treatments. The Big Pilot’s Watch Big Date Edition “150 Years” is unique, however, because it’s an entirely new watch. The standard Big Date watch features the eponymous complication on the right side of the face, company branding at the top and date window at the bottom. This new iteration switches things up, replacing the branding with the date window and shrinking the date complication, now located at the bottom of the face. Although this is the only major change — the watch features an engraved, closed caseback like some other variations and still boasts a 46.2mm stainless steel case — but considering that classic Big Pilot’s Watch is one of IWC’s key models, this new limited piece makes for an appropriately noteworthy collector’s item.
The watch, limited to 100 pieces per color, retails for $13,800 USD. Check out IWC’s website for ordering and spec information. For more limited watches, check out Audemars Piguet’s platinum Royal Oak Chronograph.
